Biography

Jamie received clinical training in which she worked with diverse populations and mental health issues. She has experience working with individuals and families to overcome challenges such as trauma, anxiety, depression, identity crisis, life adjustment, family and relationship issues, as well as severe mental illness and addiction issues. She facilitated group sessions for grief, social skills, and survivors of domestic violence/sexual assault and victims of crime. She specializes in trauma, and has extensive training and supervision in trauma therapy including EMDR and Somatic Experiencing. As an immigrant herself, and with experience working with expats, she genuinely understands how challenging acculturation can be, and has been able to support clients for a smooth transition.

Therapy Approach

I integrate trauma-informed care, evidence-based techniques, and holistic approaches. My approach is rooted in providing empathy and validation, promoting self-agency and self-acceptance, and cultivating psychological flexibility and emotional resilience. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI).

I deeply believe in the Mind-Body connection, and incorporate Mindfulness and embodied techniques such as EMDR and Somatic Experiencing (SE) into my practice. I also encourage clients to utilize expressive arts to work on their unprocessed emotions. I meet clients where they are at, believe in their expertise of lived experience, and collaborate with them in creating treatment goals and plans. I strive to provide a culturally sensitive environment to empower clients from all walks of life to achieve mental and emotional wellness.
