Biography

Yeji Park is a U.S.-licensed school psychologist and counselor. Born in Seoul, she moved to Maryland at the age of fourteen and has since navigated life as an international student. She earned her master’s and specialist degrees in school psychology from Teachers College, Columbia University. Yeji has extensive experience working in educational settings in New York and Los Angeles, where she supported elementary, middle, and high school students with their academic and socio-emotional needs.

Passionate about making psychology accessible to a broader audience, Yeji runs the YouTube channel “Yeji Psychology,” where she shares insights on self-esteem, attachment theory, and assertiveness. In addition to her work in schools, she has counseled individuals and couples seeking to build self-esteem and navigate relationship conflicts. Yeji’s professional goal is to empower her clients with practical strategies to enhance their mental well-being and interpersonal relationships, helping them lead more fulfilling lives.

Therapy Approach

Yeji Park’s therapeutic approach combines Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and mindfulness practices to help clients navigate their personal challenges. She begins by gaining an accurate and empathetic understanding of the client’s unique experiences, ensuring a strong foundation of trust and openness. Yeji believes in highlighting clients’ existing strengths and guiding them to recognize their inner resources.

With CBT, she helps clients identify and reframe unhelpful thought patterns, fostering healthier perspectives and emotional responses. Using EFT, she addresses emotional blocks and attachment issues, helping clients improve their emotional connections and enhance relational dynamics. Through mindfulness, Yeji encourages clients to stay present, manage stress, and cultivate a sense of calm. Her goal is to empower individuals to not only solve their current problems but also build resilience for future challenges, leading to a more balanced and fulfilling life.
